Conversion between Arbitrary Sampling Rates: an Implementation Cost Trade-off Study for the Family of Farrow Structures

چکیده
We investigate and compare the computational loads of different implementations of a system for asynchronous sample rate reduction: The cascade of a preceding synchronous polyphase L-Interpolator, an asynchronous sample rate converter applying five different Farrow structures being based on Lagrange interpolation and a successive synchronous polyphase M-decimator. For a limited range of requirements, always those designs with minimum implementation cost are identified. As a result of this trade-off study, it turns out that a cascade system applying the Modified Farrow structure exploiting coefficient symmetry and with the decimation property represents the most efficient implementation.

Design of Efficient Polynomial-based Filters Using Discrete-time Opimization
This paper presents several novel structures for conversion between arbitrary sampling rates. The method allows arbitrary number of zeros at multiples of both input and output sampling rates, thus it has both good anti-imaging and good anti-aliasing properties. The novel structures are derived from continuous-time equivalents of CIC and modified comb filters. The implementation can be based on ...

The robustness property can be added to DSC system at the expense of reducing performance, i.e., increasing the sum-rate. The aim of designing robust DSC schemes is to trade off between system robustness and compression efficiency. In this paper, after deriving an inner bound on the rate–distortion region for the quadratic Gaussian MDC based RDSC system with two encoders, the structure of...
متن کاملA Multi-Mode Resource-Constrained Optimization of Time-Cost Trade-off Problems in Project Scheduling Using a Genetic Algorithm
In this paper, we present a genetic algorithm (GA) for optimization of a multi-mode resource constrained time cost trade off (MRCTCT) problem. The proposed GA, each activity has several operational modes and each mode identifies a possible executive time and cost of the activity. Beyond earlier studies on time-cost trade-off problem, in MRCTCT problem, resource requirements of each execution mo...

In this paper, an efficient multi-objective model is proposed to solve time-cost trade off problem considering cash flows. The proposed multi-objective meta-heuristic is based on Ant colony optimization and is called Non Dominated Archiving Ant Colony Optimization (NAACO). The significant feature of this work is consideration of uncertainties in time, cost and more importantly interest rate. A ...
متن کاملPolynomial-based Filters in Bandpass Interpolation and Sampling Rate Conversion
If the SRC is performed between arbitrary sampling rates, then the SRC factor can be a ratio of two very large integers or even an irrational number. An efficient way to reduce the implementation complexity of a SRC system in those cases is to use polynomial-based interpolation filters with the impulse response ha(t) having the following properties. ha(t) is nonzero for an interval 0 ≤ t < NT w...
